Rates (prices do not include 7.5% local sales tax)
Some people seem to be a bit confused about my pricing. My prices are for JUST the number of people I take out in any given day and I only take the people that originally book with me---I do NOT add people to the boat to fill it up like every other charter operator will without charging you a "whole boat" fee! If 2, 3, or 4 of you want to fish without other people along, you will be the only people on the boat. If you don't mind fishing with other people I will endeavor to add more to your party and the actual cost per person will be reflected by the actual number of people I take out that day.
These prices are for multiple species as well---I'll fish for whatever we have time to fish for. I do NOT charge extra to do a "combo" trip like other charter operators do. Though see the note below for lingcod/yelloweye trips.
May 1st through Aug. 31st - $325 per person for 2
300 per person for 3
275 per person for 4
Sept. 1st through April 30th - $275 per person for 2
250 per person for 3
225 per person for 4
LINGCOD/YELLOWEYE (July 1st - Dec. 31st): Add $125 extra gas fee to TOTAL charge (one time fee, NOT per person).
Payment: Cash, credit cards and PayPal: I am set up to take credit cards and PayPal payments, but they charge me 3% to use them and as much as I hate to do it I need to pass that charge on to you. My business just isn't big enough that I can "eat" that charge. Sorry!
Deposit and cancellations: A 50% deposit is required to confirm your reservation. Cancellations 14 or more days in advance will be refunded completely. If cancellation is made less than 14 days in advance no refund will be given unless I am able to re-book that day (and I will make every effort to do so) and if I am able to re-book then 100% of your deposit will be refunded. If your trip is cancelled by me due to weather conditions or unforseen circumstances your deposit will be refunded completely. Deposits can be made with a mailed personal or certified check, or through PayPal, though using PayPal will incur an extra 3% charge.
Half Day Trips: If you're looking for just a "half day" I'll be happy to do that, though who wants to fish for just a half a day!? Please inquire about pricing.
"COMBO TRIPS": Most charter operators will charge you more for a combo trip, but I am more than happy to do a combo trip at no extra charge if that's what you want to do. If we go out after halibut and you catch a limit that you're happy with I'll be more than happy to go fish for any salmon that might be hanging around.
WINTER KINGS/HALIBUT: Don't forget the off season, too, because there are feeder kings out there 365 days a year. Winter kings are out there all through spring, fall and winter and as long as the weather allows you'll find me out on the water chasing them. If you're looking for something a little different to do during the "off season" you might just want to consider going out for kings when most people are only giving thought to the fishing expeditions they'll take the following summer. There isn't much that can compare to a fresh king salmon fillet on the grill in the middle of the winter. And there are halibut around all winter long, too. I'll be happy to take you out and do my best to put some halibut in the fish box, too.
As I said above, my pricing reflects the fact that I am more than happy to take just 2, 3 or 4 people fishing without adding other people. I'll also take just one person out if that's what you want to do ($400 plus tax). I have found over the years that sometimes people such as a family, a married couple, siblings or a couple of good buddies would prefer to fish without having people on the boat that they don't know and I take pride in accommodating you if that's what you want. All the charter operators that I know of will charge a "whole boat" fee if you don't want extra people along with you to fill up their 6 person limit. I do not do that.
BUT if you ARE only 2, or 3 people and don't mind 1 or 2 other people going along with you I will only charge you the "per person" rate appropriate for the total number of people on board. For example, if there are 2 of you, and I add one other person to your group you would only pay the $275 per person rate. If I add 2 people to your group then I'd only charge everyone the $250 per person rate. Please let me know when you book your trip whether or not you want an "exclusive" trip or not.
I DON'T set a specific time limit as to when we leave port and when we come back in (that's up to you within reason---I try to limit it to no more than 12 hours!) like almost all of the larger operators do, so I'll do my best to get you out there for the best fishing experience you can possibly have.
And maybe you're only interested in spending less time out there than a "full day" of fishing and prefer doing an abbreviated "half day" of fishing. I'll be happy to discuss that option with you and what the pricing would be.
And with the smaller boat that I have with twin 115hp motors I can get to the fishing grounds a lot quicker than the larger boats which equates to just that much more time for you to thouroughly enjoy your fishing experience.

I tried for halibut first today, but there were so many cod I couldn't keep them off my line, so no halibut. But the kings were nice to me today. I caught and released one that was about 15 lbs. and then caught and retained this one that, oddly enough, was 15 lbs. as well.
