I do NOT add extra people to the boat like other charter captains do! I ONLY take the people that originally book a day with me!! And I do NOT charge you extra to fish for more than one species!!!
If you're looking for the best halibut, salmon, rockfish and ling cod fishing in Southcentral AK, it's hard to beat fishing Homer, AK, the "Halibut Capital of the World". I am a fully licensed and Coast Guard approved charter captain and fish off a 26 ft. Hewescraft Alaskan Searunner that can fish 4 people at a time. But if you are a party of just 2, 3 or 4 people (maximum of 5) I will be happy to take you out by yourselves without filling the boat up with people you don't know. Check with "the other guys" and see what THEY would charge you to take just 2, 3 or 4 people and have the whole boat to yourselves! My pricing structure is based on the number of people I take out to maximize your fishing pleasure and experience and NOT to maximize my profits. I love to fish and I love to take people fishing.
And I don't set the time we'll leave port (some people like leaving "fashionably late") or when we come back in (within reason). I will do everything I possibly can to make sure you have the absolute best day of fishing you've ever had.
Want to fish for more than one species? I'm happy to cater to whatever fishing you want to do---halibut only, a combo of halibut and salmon, or possibly halibut and ling cod (lings require a one way trip of 50 to 75 miles and an extra gas surcharge). I don't charge a "combo" fee if you decide you want to fish for more than one species.
Don't forget that Kachemak Bay is also a haven for sea otters, a large variety of sea birds, returning humpback whales and orcas, so not only will you be experiencing a wonderful fishing adventure, but a wildlife cruise as well.

I tried for halibut first today, but there were so many cod I couldn't keep them off my line, so no halibut. But the kings were nice to me today. I caught and released one that was about 15 lbs. and then caught and retained this one that, oddly enough, was 15 lbs. as well.
